Alma is a web-based grade reporting system that allows parents to monitor the academic progress of their children. This is a great tool that fosters more effective communication between teachers and parents, while enabling students to become accountable and responsible for their own academic performance. The faculty and administration of Mount Royal Academy strongly encourage parents to fully capitalize on this grade reporting system.
Alma FAQ sheet: includes answers to common questions about Alma, including how Alma protects student privacy and security.
Alma, is a secure, easy-to-use online system that brings important school information and tools together in one place. We expect this to save school leaders and teachers time, and make it easier to get a complete view of what’s happening with each student’s learning. Additionally, Alma is more affordable than other school management systems, so we can free up more of our budget for other school needs.
In addition to educator tools, Alma offers a parent and student portal to help families stay informed and on track with student learning. The portal provides access to:
- School Calendar
- Staff Directory
- Class Rosters
- Attendance History
You can also email teachers and school staff through Alma, so you never have to search for their contact information. If you have more than one child enrolled at our school, you will be able to all of their information with a single login.
Alma Launch 2015 - 2016
Each family will receive an automated email from Alma prompting parents to setup their account. Students can also have their own unique login, but we will have to manually input the student email. We can only input student emails into Alma with parental permission. If you would like your child to have a unique login, please email Mrs. McDonald, and she will add their email to the student bio.
The Alma dashboard has several new features, including the updated academic calendar. This will enable parents to access one location for the bulk of pertinent school information. We are going to conduct faculty training during teacher week, and parents will also receive a brief orientation during Back to School Night.
Student schedules and teacher assignments are also available on the parent portal. You can simply select "classes" on the top of the student portal to view all of the classes. If you would like to view your child's daily schedule you can change the date on the "overview" page to September 1st (the date can be typed or a calendar will pop up), and then your child's daily schedule will automatically appear. Since the daily schedule is not entirely finalized at this point, please scroll to the bottom - "other classes". Please allow for some time while we add homeroom teachers and work out any remaining kinks in the schedule. I highly recommend showing the schedule to your child.
