Grace Mather, the oldest of seven children, first spent her growing up years on a small New Hampshire farm, haying, gardening and raising livestock. This grew early on in her not just an appreciation for hard work but also a nurturing spirit toward those who are young and vulnerable, whether animals or people. Her love for the natural world carried over into her family's move to an off-grid home deep in the woods where she was homeschooled through middle school. She attended Mount Royal Academy in high school where her faith was deepened and her path was made more clear. While still a student at Mount Royal she was given the opportunity to do an internship where she spent time with students in the elementary school. Her time with younger students was formative and inspired her to pursue a career in education. She spent several years working in the public school system as a paraeducator before joyfully returning to Mount Royal Academy to work at the place where these seeds of calling were first planted in her heart. She is working on a Psychology degree from Grand Canyon University as part of her ultimate goal of getting her certifications in special education. When not at work or studying, Ms. Mather enjoys traditional English dances, playing her fiddle, crocheting and especially spending time with her horses, Captain and Do-Si-Do.
