Mount Royal Academy in Sunapee, NH is seeking a full or part time math teacher for grades 6-12 for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants should be familiar with classical curriculum and pedagogical methods and have a passion for Catholic education. All full time teachers must be practicing Catholics and willing to profess an oath of fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree, a strong background in the subject matter, and a solid understanding of algebra, geometry and advanced mathematics. The candidate must bring a commitment to high academic standards and an ability to build a strong rapport with students. Teaching experience is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Possess knowledge and passion for universal truth and the subject matter taught
- Prepare and deliver developmentally appropriate lesson plans suitable for the needs of the classroom and individual students; lesson plans must be posted in accordance with administrative directives
- Consistently and effectively assess students to measure knowledge retention and social-emotional development
- Lead and manage the classroom by modeling the Salesian Way and implementing the Preventative Method
- Sustain meaningful and effective rapport with students by Educative Presence
- Encourage students to grow in virtue by receiving the sacraments, promoting self-mastery and positive self-image, setting high standards for student behavior, and managing inappropriate behavior with dignity
- Monitor and supervise the physical safety of students
- Affirm the inherent dignity of each child and the correct anthropology of the human person
- Modify instruction and lessons for individual students in collaboration with the Student Support Team
- Maintain accurate attendance and academic records using the SIS
- Comply with deadlines for reporting of academic achievement
- Actively participate in formal and informal opportunities for professional development
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality with relevant information regarding individual students and school operations
- Exhibit professionalism and sound judgment in dress, demeanor, and outward appearance
- Performs any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by administration, including but not limited to sharing recess duty, covering classes, and leading prayer services
- Serve as an ambassador for the mission of the school and by extension, the evangelical impulse of the Catholic Church
Required education, knowledge, and skills
- All full-time teachers must be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher
