Mount Royal Academy in Sunapee, NH is seeking full and part time resource teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. The resource teacher will perform tasks related to the instruction and supervision of students, perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel, and other related duties.
A desire and ability to work with young children is essential in this position. Candidates should also have the desire to share their faith through example and teaching, and the ability to see the potential in all students.

Resource Teacher Job Description

A resource teacher at Mount Royal Academy provides essential support to classroom teachers and students in individual or group settings. Support may be required across all areas of the curriculum, and resource teachers may be asked to teach a lesson or even serve as a substitute teacher on occasion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Embrace the school mission of educating the whole person, one student at a time
- Maintain open lines of communication with classroom teachers regarding support needs in their classrooms, progress updates, and any other topic related to student assistance or classroom operation
- Communicate with Lead Resource Teacher if additional supports or techniques are necessary
- Consult with Academic Dean regarding scheduling or any additional questions
- Model the Salesian Way and implement the Preventative Method
- Sustain meaningful and effective rapport with students by Educative Presence
- Monitor and supervise the physical safety of students
- Exhibit professionalism in the execution of the role of resource teacher, to include punctuality, adhering to a schedule, and in interactions with students, teachers, parents, or other school personnel
- Exhibit professionalism and sound judgment in dress, demeanor, and outward appearance
- Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible in meeting the changing needs of the classroom and school at large
- Performs any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by administration, including but not limited to sharing recess duty, covering classes, and leading prayer services
