After a few growing pains early in the season, the Knights are fully tuned, locked, and ready to go for their second-round match-up against a familiar foe: Jesse Remington. The Knights advanced through the first round, albeit without playing an actual game, and should have all their energy savored for this decisive game. If the Knights lose, they will play for 3rd place in the final standings on Saturday, November 13th. If the Knights win, they will play for 1st place against either Holy Family Academy, Parker, or Tri City.

Inevitably, the likelihood of advancing is largely based upon our resolve to win. We control our destiny. We have the stamina and the talent. We simply need to put forth a total and complete team effort in order to win.

Several games were lost by inches during the season: balls trickling along the goal line without an attacker there  to tap it in; shots just barely getting past the fingertips of our goalie; or eyes diverted two inches the wrong way, preventing our defender from marking an opposing attacker.

How do we overcome these lost inches? Sheer heart and a determined will. We need to play with the heart of one, a heart that is determined to contribute to the betterment of our fellow teammates and friends. Playing soccer, or any type of sport for that matter, is a type of Gospel service. We strive to bring about the happiness of our teammates by extending our physical and mental strength, so that we can collectively achieve happiness in victory. We serve the happiness of each other through sweaty faces, bruised bodies, injured egos, and internal motors that are dried out by the end of the match.

For our seniors, this could become a precious and unforgettable series of events. They value this experience, and the rest of the team will be working hard to protect it. We will strive to serve them by leaving it all on the field, so as to place within their hearts a memory that can be savored and cherished after they advance onwards into the next step of their journey towards eternal happiness.
